I had to go to the hospital for an expected induction, due to blood pressure problems. I was very worried, and the process was scary. Grace was my night nurse for the two evenings I labored. She consistently went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Not only did she do an excellent and thorough job administering care, but she also took that extra moment to make sure that my blankets were tucked in just so, and to ask if I needed juice. It is difficult to describe, but all the little things that she did made me feel like I was important and cherished, culminating in a feeling of deep trust that alleviated my fears significantly. It felt like I was being taken care of by a beloved family member. At times I didn’t even feel like I was in the hospital.

Grace even made sure that my husband could sleep and took it upon herself to do the many tasks that I’m certain she did not have to do. She helped because she could. Ultimately, it was a series of thoughtful gestures and actions that I didn’t even know I needed and consequently made everything so much better at a time when I could have had a strong negative reaction to my situation Thank you, Grace.

Even among the exemplary nurses at Rex, she still stands out like a shining star.
