I want everyone to know just how compassionate, empathetic and all-around incredible nurse Angela is. My husband was critically sick and somewhat grouchy. Angela met his needs & emotions right where he was in his illness process. She is obviously very clinically experienced because she caught a critical lefthand ischemia during her assessment. This led J to surgery for a thrombectomy due to a clotted arterial line. Her quick response saved a musician’s hand!! We are forever grateful for that alone!

Angela’s bedside compassion and empathy extended to family members as well. This included excellent communication of all processes. This significantly reduced our anxiety!

Angela prayed with J. She made accommodations for his 92-year-old mother, all while transfusing J with platelets and blood, extubating him and sending him off to surgery. She did all this with such a pleasant demeanor! We felt J was in excellent hands. I was allowed to take a break and relax, knowing she was his nurse for two days.

After surgery, she played J’s music for him and the unit staff. J lives and breathes his bluegrass. Angela recognized this and encouraged him to talk about this music and plan his return to music, and his band, upon recovery.

J begged her not to leave him on her last day with him. Angela, you exemplify what is important in nursing; clinical excellence, compassion, mutual respect of patient and family, and you did all of this with a smile and a positive vibe. I cannot thank you enough, Angela!
