My husband had an unexplained amputation of his left leg below his knee. In addition to this traumatic procedure, he and I were training on how to perform peritoneal dialysis at home. We feel fortunate to have had Rob Beach as his nurse. Even though all of the nurses were good, Rob rose above all the others. He was “Johnny on the spot”, very caring, attentive, and sympathetic.

Also, Rob truly knows dialysis. He was helpful in giving me additional information on peritoneal dialysis. My husband and I quickly bonded with Rob. In the morning when he entered, I would say, “Here comes sunshine!” He truly brightened our day. He quickly learned I enjoyed my coffee in the morning and would even brain me a fresh cup. Rob was only his nurse for three or four days, which saddened us! We would have chosen him for his entire stay. One thing that impressed me the most on the days that he wasn't assigned to my husband, he still would come by to check on us! If all nurses were half as attentive as Rob, Lynchburg General Hospital would have the best nurses in the state! When my husband is walking again we plan to come by and visit Rob, a wonderful nurse and new friend!
