Tracy works in surgery and coordinates the preadmission process in our department. This consists of multiple job duties and responsibilities, with one being, calling the patient and or family member before the procedure to go over their health history and explaining what to expect when they arrive for their procedure.

Recently we had a special needs patient scheduled for a surgical procedure and Tracy called and spoke with the mother and explained to her what to expect the day of surgery. The patient’s mother was very nervous for her daughter to undergo this procedure and Tracy took the time to explain in detail and allowed the mother to express any concerns that she may have. I was the nurse taking care of this patient in post-op, and when we were discharging her, the mother verbalized multiple times how grateful she was for Tracy, and how much comfort she was during this whole experience. The mother explained how much it meant to have someone actually take the time to listen to her concerns, answer questions and reassure her that her daughter would be taken care of. She told me that she felt a sense of calm after speaking with Tracy, and she will forever be thankful for her kindness.

Tracy has been a nurse here at Baptist for over 28 years and never fails to go above and beyond her job duties to ensure patients are taken care of and is truly an amazing coworker. Our department is so thankful for Tracy.
