Natosha took the extra time and effort to reach out individually to these providers. She was able to establish positive communication with them and provided valuable suggestions about how to improve the flow of patients and the messages that they were receiving.
Natosha is an example of a compassionate nurse who is also very skilled and experienced. Recently, there was some disconnect between an attending physician and a consultant healthcare provider regarding patients that are seen in our Wound Care Center. Natosha took the extra time and effort to reach out individually to these providers. She was able to establish positive communication with them and provided valuable suggestions about how to improve the flow of patients and the messages that they were receiving. This certainly is not an easy task, but she did this in a very mature, professional, and respectful manner. She did this always focusing on what she thought was best for our patients at the Wound Care Center. She consistently meets all criteria that are recognized in the DAISY Award:

-Service: She is committed to serving her patients, who very often have multiple complex comorbidities and are debilitated. This is well perceived by most of them. who like her and trust her. She knows her patients very well and is always paying attention to their needs.

Communication: She is very articulate and has the capacity to talk at ease with all members of our team, our patients, and their families.

Ownership: She is very proud of working at the Wound Care Center. She has offered herself as a volunteer to represent us in Health Fairs, after hours, on her own. She is always looking for opportunities to improve the way we function and treat patients in the Wound Care Center.

Professionalism: She is very reliable and knowledgeable. She is very respectful of all team members, patients, and their families. She has advanced her skills and now she is able to provide hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy to our patients.

Teamwork: She frequently comes to work extra hours to cover for our hyperbaric safety director on Fridays, so she can have more time with her family. She is always available to assist other members of our team and does it with a smile and projecting a positive attitude. I feel privileged to work with such a compassionate nurse who consistently delivers excellent patient care and is always to improve the quality of services we provide.
