I was admitted to medsurg through the emergency room and with a stay close to a week. I came to this hospital not only because it is close to home but because my cousin had surgery in January and Andrea was her nurse for most of her stay. She went above and beyond to check in on her during her stay and did nothing less during my stay. There was a day during my stay when I felt hopeless as there were many tests I was in need of, but Andrea became my hope and restored it with her encouraging words, bedside manner, and attentiveness. After every exam and doctor consult she she made sure to provide me with the comfort of clarifying any concerns and guided me with whom to ask my questions. I felt as if Andrea was taking care of me just as my mom takes care of me. She calmed me down when I needed to be reminded all would be okay, and that is something only someone with a caring heart would do! I know she is like this with all patients, which is why I believe there is no one else I believe deserves this more than ANDREA. I can only hope that if anyone gets sick, they get an ANDREA in their lives to care for them like family.
