Jacob had such a calm and caring nature, that it had a calming effect on my daughter.
Jacob provided extraordinary care in the recovery unit following my teenage daughter’s back surgery. She was extremely nervous about the surgery. Jacob had such a calm and caring nature, that it had a calming effect on my daughter.
When there was a mixup with which pharmacy her prescriptions were sent, he calmly offered guidance, going so far as to help make phone calls to the pharmacies on her behalf. The back and forth on the phone with the pharmacies took some time, and it was evident that my daughter would be checked out of the hospital later than what was typical (we were the last ones there). In spite of this, Jacob continued to show patience and never made us feel like we were being hurried out.
When I went to the parking lot to pull the car up for my daughter to get in, I found that my car had a flat tire. Again, Jacob didn’t rush us or make us feel as if we were keeping him from getting home (though we undoubtedly were). He smiled and kindly wheeled my daughter back into the hospital to wait for assistance with our vehicle, offering to help us with whatever we needed. He has a life and family outside of his work that were waiting for him, as all nurses do. We delayed him from returning home to those people yet he never once seemed put out or bothered. He only showed genuine care and concern for my daughter and her well-being rather than his own schedule.
Thank you, Jacob, for caring for my daughter so calmly, compassionately, and completely. We were blessed by you that day. Thank you, Ascension, for hiring nurses like Jake Fox. They help make difficult days a little bit better.
