Dr. Baker is an inspiration to her students and exemplifies excellence through student support, student and staff engagement, and grit to ensure a high level of service. She is the student nurses association mentor, chair of the student and staff’s campus engagement committee, and sits on the nursing admissions selection committee. She also holds a full-time teaching load each term. She is innovative in her teaching methods and frequently challenges the status quo to ensure students are successful.

Recently Dr. Baker partnered with another faculty member to support a student to overcome ESOL challenges. The student was not successful in another nursing program but since the special coaching session has become a high-performing and exemplary nursing student. Her patience and dedication have supported so many of our students and graduates!
