From the moment Linda walked into my room until her shift was over, she made sure I had everything I needed.
First of all, I would like to say that the entire staff was fabulous. But there was one nurse that really, in my opinion, went above and beyond to make sure I was as comfortable as I could be. From the moment Linda walked into my room until her shift was over, she made sure I had everything I needed. Whatever I needed, or asked for, Linda made sure I had it before she left. It may not seem like a big deal until you're the one needing their care. If I asked for a soda, Linda would bring me a 6 pack to make sure I wasn't waiting for one the next time I was thirsty. When my meals would arrive, for whatever reason, they had trouble getting ketchup, but when I mentioned it to Linda, she went and found me some and that happened several times and as I said before it may not seem like a big deal but when you're in here it's the little things that make a difference. When Linda changed my dressings, she made sure my pain was managed so I was as comfortable as possible. Linda explained everything going on and ensured I knew about all the medication I was given. Even when I didn't want to tell the doctor about the pain in my hands, Linda made sure to let him know so it could be addressed. It was opening day for the Cardinals and Linda would actually stop in and catch a few at-bats and I thought that was so cool of a nurse to do. It honestly was like having my parents take care of me. Linda made my time here the best experience I could have had. In my book, and I talked to several other nurses who agree, Linda is EXTRAORDINARY.
