Recently I was hospitalized with pneumonia, cardio irregularities, and septic shock. I believe I am alive and doing well now due to the compassionate and skilled care provided by Nurse Jarred Seals. I was in and out of awareness for several days, but I heard the voice of Jarred as he talked to me while he was in the room performing various procedures. His voice was so positive and reassuring as he encouraged me and talked about engaging topics as if I could respond. He set an example for others in how to interact with patients who did not seem to be responding. He is a young man with outstanding potential.

When my eighty-year-old sister was hospitalized at SGMC with pneumonia and septic shock, Nurse Jarred provided the link to the world by treating her with unceasing mental stimulation about everyday types of exciting conversation and responding as she heard and understood what he said. I think he kept her connected to the world. This was in addition to his responsiveness to medical needs when they occurred. I am eighty-four years old and it was reassuring to find a young nurse with such a caring attitude toward older patients.
