In stepped Heidi. She arranged for insulin at the midtown clinic for a cheaper price. He had no money for it so she paid with her own money.
The patient was recent to America to try to get work but hurt his foot, needed and had surgery, and had no resources. He was concerned about food and thought he would be okay on just the antibiotics he got in the hospital. We told him how important it is to finish the antibiotics and take his other meds to heal. The care manager was able to secure his meds from Walmart with a voucher except for his insulin. That alone would be 700 dollars and couldn't be covered.

There was concern he wouldn't be able to make it to the clinic so she also went over to the clinic across town and then brought it back to the hospital and brought it to the patient prior to his discharge so he was assured of having it to help with maximal healing.
