She helped me in a way that I don't believe anyone will ever understand. Her devotion and skilled passion should be celebrated every single day.
This nomination has been long overdue for this absolutely amazing nurse. Rebecca is the definition of selfless. She cares more for what other people need and want rather than what she needs and wants. She made me feel like I was her only patient with the attention and care she gave me. She was my L& D nurse 3 years ago (2019) when I gave birth to my first son. Fast forward to June 2022, and I was blessed enough to have her again to deliver my second son. When I learned she was going to be there the day I went into labor, I breathed a sigh of relief. All was going to be okay, because SHE was going to be there. With my first pregnancy, I had a very traumatic experience and if it wasn't for her support, calmness, and caring heart, I am not sure I would have mentally recovered as well as I did.

I experienced severe Pre-eclampsia symptoms with both my pregnancies. My second delivery was just as hard but having Rebecca there once again gave me the strength I needed to push through because she was going to take care of me. She kept me informed about both of my babies. With my first, I didn't get to see him until almost 13hrs after he was born and she made sure to update me as much as she could. She cared for my baby as if it was her own baby.

My second son was placed in the NICU and she made sure I had all the information/updates I needed about him. The first moment I was allowed to go see him, she got me ready and accompanied me. Both times, she listened to my needs & concerns as an individual person. Honestly, most of the time, I felt like she anticipated my needs before I myself even knew what it is that I needed. She helped me up and out of bed with so much patience and compassion. She assisted with my showers by staying the whole time/being hands on and helped me get my c-section dressings off as I was too weak & scared to do it myself. Every single thing she did, means the world to me.

She helped me in a way that I don't believe anyone will ever understand. Her devotion and skilled passion should be celebrated every single day. If talking about how much she made a meaningful difference in my care brings tears to my eyes more than 3 years later, that speaks for itself.
