My dad was recently a patient in your Emergency Department. Gabe was his nurse and Jessica was shadowing Gabe. My dad was in bad shape, with a severe GI bleed. His blood pressure was in the double digits, both top and bottom. Gabe took excellent care of my dad! He and Jessica got him cleaned up and they were very gentle with him. My dad passed out and I was really scared! After they got my dad situated, Gabe came outside of the room and hugged me. We went back into my dad's room and Gabe asked if my dad was a "praying man". I said yes, and Gabe held my dad's hand and he prayed with us. In today's world, I sure hope this doesn't get Gabe into trouble. He is an excellent, skilled, and compassionate nurse. This world and hospital need more nurses like Gabe. He stayed on top of things and made sure that my dad was getting his transfusion before he went home for the evening. My husband and I felt that dad was in excellent hands. Gabe's compassion with my dad and us as a family, meant everything. Gabe cared for my dad and treated him with the utmost dignity and respect.
