Carlo always comes into the room with a smile, a personal greeting, and happiness.
Carlo has been absolutely amazing! When we don’t understand the meds being given, he very patiently and thoroughly tells us - what it is and what it’s for. My hubs has been in MDA with a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer (diagnosis today). He wanted to shave. We were told razors weren’t allowed due to patients on this floor being on blood thinners. Carlo took the time to get one for my husband and then he proceeded to shave him. His kindness, sincerity, and nursing skills are top-notch. After the doctor told us the final diagnosis, I was just sitting on the bed trying to keep my act together and Carlo went to get a warm blanket and put it around me. Such a compassionate gesture. He always comes into the room with a smile, a personal greeting, and happiness. We were listening to our Christian station and he knew the artist. We shared stories about kids and grandkids. He made us feel comfortable and less anxious about being at MDA. Carlo is a role model nurse… compassionate, knowledgeable, gentle, personable, caring, and Godly. We need more Carlos in the world. He took my husband’s hand and said he’d pray for him. He is intuitive enough to know what to say and when to say it. I have a last thing- he treated his “assistant nurses” with respect and helped them when needed. He was always in our room as soon as we needed him. I wish he could work 24/7.
