I am a stem cell recipient, for which I am thankful and grateful. Words cannot express how fortunate I feel. I could go on and on because I enjoy writing. I will keep things brief. Recently, I was at a routine doctor’s appointment when I started feeling poorly. I was then admitted with a 102.3 fever and had an infection. I spent the week through Friday in the hospital. Went home and I felt tired and sluggish over the weekend. Then on Wednesday, my husband drove me back to the ER at 2:00 AM because I was experiencing both chest and back pains. I was admitted with pneumonia. I am still in-patient. Having been quite the journey, not being at home with family, it’s difficult being away and ill. One of my heroes when I was admitted made all the difference in the world. Sinobi was there and went beyond to make me comfortable. I tried to help her with things, but she would not have it. She was humble, caring, and kind and would not let me do anything. Sinobi is very nurturing and made me feel that she truly cared, and I believe her. The first day I went to take a shower she wanted to make sure that I had everything and brought it into the shower. She asked if she should stay because my gait was off, and I wasn’t walking well. She had someone stay outside the shower until I came out which reflects the type of person and nurse she is. She made sure I had everything I needed. She continually checked my sugar and kept on top of my eating and drinking. When I was in the shower, I inadvertently dropped something, and she came running in the shower. She was there in a minute’s time. Sinobi was there for 3 days during my stay, and I am thankful and grateful for that. A lot of medical positions like nurses require education and training. The true gift of kindness, caring, and compassion was apparent in her the moment we first met. Sinobi made me feel better in a very authentic way that helped with my recovery. She is the ultimate professional and went above and beyond with regard to my needs. Sinobi is an Angel to me, and she deserves this DAISY Award.
