Kame stayed to participate in the case, as she knew the seriousness of the situation, and that the teams and the patient needed the best, most efficient support possible.
I have known and worked with Kame for approximately 8 years. First in her role as a technician and then in her role as a nurse. She has shown an intense interest and assumed responsibility for providing safe care, while helping to educate generations of obstetrics and gynecologic learners.

While she always goes the extra mile, recently she did something that should be recognized. I had a case that while completely dry in the OR, had a bleed in PACU and had to return to the OR. The patient did not behave normally for a patient with a post op bleed, having some of her hemodynamic parameters inconsistent with a bleed. Unfortunately, this dilemma led to a later-than-normal recognition of the problem by the services involved. So when we did return to the OR, the patient was in a critical state. Kame stayed to participate in the case, as she knew the seriousness of the situation, and that the teams and the patient needed the best, most efficient support possible. This truly indicates a superior human who will go to this extent for her fellow humans. I want to go on further to say that she did this on a Friday evening.

Ascension is lucky to have Kame, as is the gynecologic service. She deserves all the accolades and recognition that we can shower upon her.
