I just left your surgery center in Hillcrest having a tonsillectomy and my uvula shaved down as an adult. This was my first surgery, and I was terrified. From being brought into the OR and seeing all the bright lights, to coming out of surgery feeling all that pain and being alone. When I woke up sobbing, I turned over and saw Kari. I absolutely love Kari for the faith in humanity she restored for me that morning. As soon as I came out of surgery, Kari noticed me crying and kept being so gentle and caring. It was like my mom was there with me. She asked if my sister could come in, and I said yes. Seeing us now both crying, she continued being so empathetic with both of us and patient. "I won't let anything bad happen to you sweetheart, I promise" are words that still resonate in my head. After finally calming me down, she kept gently rubbing my shoulder saying she was going to get me something to help with pain and she did. When I wheeled out of there, she made it a point to stop and say bye to me while I waited for my sister in the ER parking lot. Kari is such a wonderful human and nurse. She made my dark day lighter, and the clinic is so blessed to have her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
