She supports us physically as well as emotionally. She is forever encouraging us to think outside the box and always pushing us to do bigger and better things.
Courtney goes above and beyond every single day. She came into her position not knowing what to expect from many of her departments. She openly admitted that she did not know how to do many of the positions that she was now going to be the leader of. However, she dug in and put her work clothes on and went to work right alongside her employees. She communicates with her employees daily. She is willing to step in and cover holes as needed if someone needs to step out for appointments. She works with her staff to see what they need to make their jobs easier and more efficient. She listens with an attentive ear even when her staff is talking among themselves, for ideas to help make jobs easier and the workflow better. She is always available even when she is not here in the building. She responds to emails and text messages promptly when she is at home and is supposed to be on vacation. She offers her time and knowledge to us at her own cost and spends countless hours here trying her best to make things better. I see her working with other units trying to help them as well. I often even hear or see her helping her old department do procedures or teach someone in that department how to do a procedure. She is always willing to lend a helping hand. She supports us physically as well as emotionally. She is forever encouraging us to think outside the box and always pushing us to do bigger and better things. She is not always just leading us but leading by example. She does not always give us the answer to a question but will look at us and encourage us to think of what the best answer would be. She will quickly let us know if we need to think about the answer that we give if she thinks it is not the right answer or ask us if we think that is really the best answer. She also encourages us to encourage others to do the same. I truly believe that in doing this, she is teaching us to grow in a way that we have never grown before. I appreciate this because I feel that I can stand on and use my own judgement and know that I have my director that will have my back if my judgement is in good faith that it is in the best interest of the patient, staff, and the hospital.
