Pain is something that can be so hard to talk about, explain or understand. It can be even harder to ask for help. After my husband’s back surgery, we both knew that this was more pain than anticipated.

We were so hesitant to ask for help but when nursing sent for a referral to pain management and this nurse walked in, I knew we were in good hands.

This nurse took the time to understand my husband’s needs and pain. She came into the room already knowing his history and had spoken to staff. She had a plan in mind and explained it thoroughly. I was so nervous about my husband’s pain and here we are 24 hours after her consult and he is joking, laughing and in slightly less pain.

Her presence was calm, educated, and understanding. She was truly meant to be in healthcare and found her passion in pain care management. She was just a wonderful nurse and made us all feel at ease and in good hands. She was so kind and really took the time to listen to our concerns.

We are thankful for all our nursing staff. But this nurse deserves to be recognized for her outstanding compassion. Thank you, Clare!
