All you need to do is spend a few hours with her to know that she was created to be a pediatric nurse.
I am writing this DAISY nomination to someone who exemplifies true nursing values and principles especially when no one is watching! While we have a group of simply amazing team members, I could not think of anyone better to nominate for this award!

She is a leader for our night shift team, and I could not think of a better leader for our crew than her. She comes in with such a positive attitude that makes you believe that you will overcome any challenges that comes our way that shift.

She is an amazing communicator. She finds a positive and reassuring way to enlighten you on our BayCare values and standards if she notes that it is not up to our extremely high standards. She is so knowledgeable about our procedures and policies, and she knows exactly where to find answers. She listens to you when you have concerns about a patient’s needs, and she not only finds solutions to them, but she would enlighten you on how to be able to handle the situation next time. I am for sure a better nurse because of this leadership.

She sets such an amazing example that filling her role can be very daunting. As a team leader, she does a lot of things in the background that go unnoticed. She checks in on her team periodically during the night, even going as far as helping out with different tasks without being asked simply because she knows that the team member might need a little more help.

She puts her team first every night because she understands that it is the best thing for the patients and families we serve. On nights when we have patients alone due to whatever situation is going on with the family, she is the first to go into the room and engage the child: to feed, play, and comfort. All you need to do is spend a few hours with her to know that she was created to be a pediatric nurse. I have had many nights when I was stuck in a patient's room due to emergencies, and I did not have to worry about my other kids because she was there checking on them, or delegating others to do so. This nurse has so many “DAISY-worthy moments” that it would be a disservice to only list one.

In football terms, if you were a linebacker, she is the safety who makes you feel comfortable to go make a play on the quarterback, knowing she is going to have your back. I am so honored to be working with one of Baycare’s finest, and I would like to nominate her for this award as a thank you and recognition for always being there and supportive to her team members and to patients.
