She seemed to understand on a deeper level all we were going through, and her empathy, respect, and compassion were evident at every turn.
I believe nursing is one of the most noble professions on earth. It is truly a calling and service of the heart. A caring nurse is an immeasurable gift to a patient and their loved ones in their greatest time of need. One can immediately recognize through the empathetic eyes, kind words and caring hands of a nurse whose compassion and skill is a gift from the heart and a true blessing of healing and support. A caring and conscientious nurse proves the first step in healing during an illness and hospital stay. It is as if they became part of the family, walking with you and beside you during your most vulnerable and frightening moments, providing solace, comfort, and hope in knowing someone cares.

She is this kind of nurse and made such a difference for my mother and myself during my mother’s recent hospital stay. My mother and I are very close, not only mother and daughter, but best friends and soulmates at well. I was extremely anxious and sad as I realized Mom was diagnosed with a progressive heart disease. She not only demonstrated very competent nursing skills while caring for my mom during this time, but she was a very bright light in a dark and uncertain period.

She is a great communicator and took care of our every need, even anticipating our needs before we shared them with her. She seemed to understand on a deeper level all we were going through, and her empathy, respect, and compassion were evident at every turn. In my despair, I intuitively knew that my heartache was safe with her and that she would do everything humanly possible to take care of my mother’s medical and comfort needs, as well as my emotional ones. She puts her all into the care of her patients and their families, using every ounce of energy she has, while bringing joy at every turn. As busy as she is, she makes you feel as if you are her only patient. We were blessed to have her by our side, offering her skills, compassion, and hope. She is without a question doing what she is supposed to be doing in life, and all of her patients and their families are much better off because of her tender loving care.
