My wife and I went for a routine visit at her OB and we’re a little shocked to hear that we would need to head over to Triage to induce 4 weeks early. Once there, the triage team did confirm my wife had severe preeclampsia, and they would be inducing her. To say this took us by surprise would be an understatement. After weeks of healthy follow and checkups we were not expecting to hear such news. What was a very exciting time in our lives quickly turned into a bit of panic, anxiety, and uncertainty. We met Jenn on the overnight shift while in L&D. Jenn was fantastic! She truly strived to make my wife’s time there as pleasant as possible. Jenn answered all questions my wife had, she ensured my wife was comfortable as possible for being bedridden, she took the time to explain the medicines she was on and what they did, she took the time to explain what was being monitored and how to understand the graphs. Being the husband, I was often just “Dad” when it came to nurses and doctors who were in and out of the room. Jenn even made a point to make me feel more involved in the process and making sure I was doing okay. Our stay in the L&DR was a long one, so my wife and I were thrilled to have Jenn as our nurse the second night as well. My wife went into active labor almost immediately after and during the aftercare again Jenn was fantastic in making sure my wife was cared for and doing well. Jenn, thank you for allowing my wife and I to have a pleasant experience in a moment where we weren’t sure what to expect. Your kindness and professionalism are much appreciated.
