The ED team has demonstrated compassion to a vulnerable patient during a very traumatic time.
Serve with Compassion: They explored opportunities for this patient to enjoy several things like movies, games, walks outside while also caring for additional medically complex patients.
Inspire Health: They are her advocate- brainstorming potential placement options and calling to see if they would accept. Definitely trying to Be the difference!!
When you search for the description of an ED nurse, you will find phrases such as “patients are quickly treated and move on” or stabilize and constantly changing circumstances. N.S. was a patient in the ED for 60 days. This team showed compassion and patience during a very unusual situation. They became N.S.’s advocate on many levels all while caring for other critical and complex patients that rotated through the ED. Caring for N.S. took the entire team, not just nurses, but each of you made the difference in the life of this patient.
