Courtney brought me everything I needed for a shower, and felt refreshed. A small thing, but not to me.
Where do I start? To say Courtney’s the way all nurses should be. No, she is the way all humans should be. Recently, my husband D was a patient in your incredible hospital. All of you people are amazing, but Courtney Wells takes them all. I was so scared and alone, as we are from the Northeast. She helped me through everything.
When I needed anything, she was there with compassion and understanding. I’ll give you some examples: When she started her shift, she came into the room and something about her helped me calm down, and if we needed anything she would make it happen. I wasn’t just the relative of a patient, I was a human, a scared woman, alone. She treated me as a human being in need. I could list all the little nuances during her shift, but I will list the big things that I needed.
I had her at the hospital since Valentine’s Day. I was getting “gamey”, so she brought me everything I needed for a shower, and felt refreshed. A small thing, but not to me. When I hit the wall on Thursday, she was there to hug me, she took the time to be there. When I desperately needed my meds, she helped me through the steps. She also picked up my meds. I’m sure I missed something.
The reason I’m talking about “me” and not the excellent care she gave my husband, is because she recognized my pain. Her compassion for people is great. Her skills are amazing, she went above and beyond her “commitment” to the nursing profession. She is a person to be admired and what people should aspire to be in the medical field. But for her, caring at both ends of the medical profession. I would be honored to have her as a friend. Her team was so responsive to everything my husband needed, quickly and efficiently. You should be proud of her and “your team”. I could go on, but I need more room. Courtney Wells, you are a gift, an angel walking among us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
