Irving is not afraid to challenge any practice concerns
Irving was hired as a staff nurse on inpatient units in July 2019. He transferred to the Operating Room as a staff nurse in August of 2020. Irving hit the ground running and was promoted to Nurse Manager in June of 2022. He is outstanding and has great communication skills. The staff in the OR have a great deal of trust in him as a leader. He balances many competing priorities and handles them with ease which helps the staff care for their patients. These are often times when Irving will work side by side with staff to ensure timely care of the surgical patients. He is an asset to peri op and to all of MSHS.

Irving's commitment to quality and safety is evident each day as he works closely with evening staff in the operating room. He ensures that staff are given the resources they need to be effective. He is always visible and makes himself a viable resource for staff at all times. Irving can be seen making rounds soliciting needs and feedback from all. More importantly, he follows through on all.

Irving is not afraid to challenge any practice concerns. As the only manager in the evening, he takes patient advocacy to another level. He questions, investigates, and seeks best practices to ensure patient safety.
Irving always leads with humility. He cares about everyone and always puts them first. He communicates well but best of all he demonstrates great active listening skills. Irving has improved the overall staff satisfaction of the evening shift staff. This is an extremely difficult shift to manage given the challenges, but Irving has embraced it and strives each day to make it better. Irving's positive outlook has and will continue to have a lasting effect on both patient and staff satisfaction.
