I was admitted to LIJVS on unit 1B after having gall bladder surgery. I had many nurses during my whole ordeal, but this nurse stood out the most. She is gentle, kind, caring, and compassionate and she treats people like a human and not just a number. She always answered my questions and tended to me promptly by changing my saline bags on time, giving me all my pain medications on time. Her heart is in her work. It's easy to tell she loves her job and does not see it as just a paycheck. She is a nurse who is extraordinary, in my opinion. I am very sure others could learn a great deal from her by the way she treats her patients. This nurse is so professional, caring, and gentle. She was pure sunshine every day. As an African-American woman, this was an extremely rare occurrence for me in a hospital setting. My mom and husband were both equally impressed and grateful as I was. Thank you for your help and support and the compassion that you showed me during my hospital admission. Thank you for taking the time to care for me, and for this, I know thank you doesn’t seem to be enough, especially for all that you have seen me through. The world is a better place because for wonderful nurses like you. Before saying that you are on Extraordinary Nurse, I want to tell you that you’re an extraordinary human being. Thank you for showing so much love and concern.
