I recently received an abnormal mammogram and had to get a biopsy. I was nervous and confused when I went into the biopsy and didn't listen or pay attention to anything that was going on. Brooke walked in and sat down and started asking me about my family and who I was. She calmed my nervousness and then proceeded to talk to me about the procedure.

While the doctor was performing my biopsy, she held my hand and started talking to me about my kids again. Anything to keep my mind off what was happening. I cried and she would wipe my tears. A nurse doesn't need to do this, but Brooke went beyond her duties to make sure I was okay.

Now fast forward a few weeks when, unfortunately, I had to do another biopsy. This one was more serious than the last one and I was more nervous than before. Brooke walked through the doors to come and get me, and I was so happy to see her! My second procedure was so painful because of the location but again, her kind words, holding my hand and reassuring me everything would be okay, relaxed me.

I can't express the difference that Brooke made for me in having to undergo two biopsies. No one wants to go through any type of biopsies, but she made it as comfortable and as easy as possible. Very few nurses take the extra time to make sure that their patient is completely comfortable, but Brooke did. She didn't care that it was time for her to go home, she sat with me like I was the only patient she had that day. Brooke is amazing!
