When I was going through chemotherapy back in 2019-20, I was the luckiest person to be able to have a wonderful nurse named Lois. I had gone into chemotherapy with an open mind and on everything in the hospital. Almost every single infusion, with the exception of a couple of clinic visits, she was by my side all the way through the end. Without Lois, I would have not been able to keep my mentality the same throughout my treatments.

Some days were very hard, and some days weren’t as hard as others, but every time, she managed to make sure I was as comfortable as a person can be getting chemo. I was taken care of every time! Lois manages to go above and beyond for each and every one of the patients she has helped cure. The relationships that she forms with each one of her patients are filled with nothing but love, compassion, comfort, and warmth. Without Lois, I don’t think I would have been able to look forward to coming to the hospital each time as much as I did.

I am now almost 4 years into remission and I still look forward every single time that I go to the Children’s Hospital and see Lois. I love her from the bottom of my heart all the way to the top! I truly think she is outstanding for the amount of compassion she puts into her job, her patients, and her families. It would mean the whole world to me to see her get this award because of the amazing impact she has made in my life, and so many others' lives too. Thank you for reading this.
