Brittany is always ready and willing to assist on the floor in whatever capacity she is needed. Most recently, Brittany displayed the true heart of nursing, serving a patient hospitalized for over six months due to her health issues and finding appropriate aftercare placement. This patient required extensive wound care which Brittany, according to the aftercare Community Partner, has down to a science.

Brittany went to the extent of requesting and receiving permission to make an instructional video on the patient's wound care so the Community Partner would have instructions on how to manage the patient's wound for continued healing. Not only has Brittany displayed excellence in her nursing abilities, but she also treated this patient with the utmost respect, care, and dignity. Brittany went in each day to see this patient with a smile on her face, an encouraging word, and a bright outlook.

Brittany brought in decorations on the holidays for this patient to brighten the room and give her a sense of hope. Brittany treated this patient with kindness, compassion, and care which was evident in the interactions and change in the patient's health, demeanor, and outlook. Brittany truly cared what the outcome for this patient would be and has done everything in her abilities to make that outcome better. She spent hours doing wound care, comforting the patient, and providing encouragement.

Brittany displays this same integrity each day; she is supportive of her 3 West family, always encouraging, and a wealth of knowledge. She is a wonderful example of a nurse. It is a privilege to be able to work with Brittany and I am thankful for her heart and generous spirit. She crossed the path of this patient and has forever made a positive impact that the patient nor I will ever forget. The patient may not have had the ability to reach out on her own to recognize and thank Brittany, but was very grateful and appreciative of the care and love that Brittany provided.
