Erin went to the broken back window to look down into the car to see the most terrified faces. She quickly pulled their 8-year-old son out of the car, checked him over, no signs of injury, then pulled the 10-year-old twin nieces, and her 9-year-old daughter out of the car window, checking each child.
Erin was on her way to work on 85N; it was a dark, rainy morning, As she was approaching a black SUV in the left lane, all of a sudden, the SUV began to swerve, lost control, went off the edge of the road and began to roll multiple times. Erin slowed to avoid it coming back across and hitting her vehicle, then safely pulled to the side of the road. The vehicle came to rest on the passenger side.

She dialed 911 and explained what she had just witnessed. Erin jumped out of the car and told the 911 operator she would tell her how many victims there were as soon as she got out of the car. As Erin approached the car, the mother popped her head up out of the driver's door. It only opened maybe a foot, blocked by the muffler that had twisted around the side of the car blocking the door. She was able to tell Erin there were 4 children, and 2 adults in the vehicle, and she just wanted her to get the children safely out of the car.

Erin went to the broken back window to look down into the car to see the most terrified faces. She quickly pulled their 8-year-old son out of the car, checked him over, no signs of injury, then pulled the 10-year-old twin nieces, and her 9-year-old daughter out of the car window, checking each child. By a miracle, the only complaint was scratches to the neck from the lifesaving seatbelt. The family was transported to CMH where many CMH team members stepped up and offered food, clothing, shoes, etc. for the family.
