I was stuck in the hospital, and friends and family couldn’t be there, but rest assured, I wasn’t alone, there was a nurse and she cared. Alyssa stepped into my room in my greatest time of need and every single challenge was handled with great heed. Some nurses are there when a life begins, some when a life ends, and though they may not know you well, they’ll treat you as a friend. She explained meds and procedures which eased some of my fright and she held my hand when I cried in pain every night. I said some things due to my fears, they couldn’t have been worse, but she kept a warm smile on her face, although I had cursed. She was helpful and supportive with her care which is a form of art and she showed empathy and compassion straight from the heart. I will be forever grateful for a less stressful stay if it hadn’t been for Alyssa, worry would’ve been in the way. Now I’m on the road to healing thanks to my nurse and when I leave the hospital, I’ll surely miss her.
