I was having a difficult interaction with a patient's family member and trying to explain to them why the patient needed to transfer to a higher level of care. Anne overheard our conversation from the hall and when I left the room, she asked me what the situation was and offered to speak to the family member and patient. She demonstrated compassion, excellence, and safety toward the patient, family members as well as the nursing staff. She was able to have a conversation with them and took it upon herself to escalate the situation to having the doctor come to the room. I really appreciated her help, and it benefited the patient. Anne also requested a consultation for the patient with the Diversity consultant.
