From the moment Topher entered the room, I felt safe and cared for. So safe, in fact, that I was able to release the tears that I had been holding back due to my extreme fear of my upcoming surgery. He was so gracious, quietly pulled out a fresh box of tissues for me and said several kind words. He shared with me his career in healthcare, making me feel comfortable and at ease. When a second nurse entered to assist with placing my IV, Topher did an incredible job trying to keep me distracted. When I had vasovagal syncope, he was right there to give me oxygen, change my bed to lower my head, and provide me with an emesis bag. He did his best to comfort both me and my husband while I was sick and then worked with the rest of the team to agree to place my second IV when I was in the surgical suite, so I didn’t have to go through that again. I am so proud to work at a place with such caring people and cannot thank them enough for the care they provide day in and day out.
