Kate is an exceptionally caring individual, a very compassionate and genuine nurse who made my stay as comfortable, safe, and painless as possible.
My nurse that took care of me after surgery worked each night of my stay at Bronson. Kate (a nurse for 5 years) was exceptional. She was very calming and reassuring when she came to my room. She was genuine and caring and always did more than pass meds. She helped me to the bathroom one night and I told her I had not had a chance to get cleaned up. She brought wipes and without asking, she combed blood out of my hair around my staples and put my hair in a bun. She listened to my recent tragic story that I had been through at my job only a month prior where I was assaulted by another nurse, coworker. She listened as I told her of all the jobs I had held in my 34 years of nursing.

I spoke of the loss I experienced after working several years in infectious disease alongside a brilliant physician, Dr. H after he was tragically killed by a motorist while riding a bicycle. This was going to be the job I would hold until retirement. I looked at her as she listened intently. Tears welled up in my eyes. She had bathed me, helped me in the bathroom, walked with me, combed my hair of dried blood, fixed it into a bun, changed my linens, and listened. She never seemed too busy or tried to hurry on her way. She had spent a great deal of time with me. I looked at her and asked her why she became a nurse. She replied, “I like helping others and I felt like I could be of service to others this way.” I told her to never change. She is an exceptionally caring individual, a very compassionate and genuine nurse who made my stay as comfortable, safe, and painless as possible. If it were not for her care and concern each night of my stay, my stay would have been much different! She rates a 10+ and I am so grateful for her time and over-the-top efforts, to make my stay a good one.
