While taking care of my newborn son in the NICU, I observed Shylah McCravens going beyond normal everyday job requirements. She was very informative on what she was doing and why she was doing it. Ms. McCravens would also come check on me to see if I needed anything. She would even consult with me when she saw I was down due to my son's situation and gave uplifting words of encouragement. I told Ms McCravens at the end of her shift that it was my personal belief she does her job for way more than just a check. Ms. McCravens does her job because of the real love for the small babies. Other, soon to be NICU nurses, should look to Ms. McCravens as a nursing standard to live up to.
