After coming into the ED having fallen off of an electric scooter, I was terrified. I was diagnosed with a TBI: 2 subdural hematomas, 2 temporal fractures, hearing loss, 8 staples and a concussion. My head was covered in blood when I was admitted to the ICU and Claire made it her priority to make me feel safe and cared for. She took the time to wash my hair clean and brushed it so gently. It felt like something my mom would have done if she could have been there. Claire was calm and cheerful while checking me hourly for neuro warning signs. When she came back for night 2 she had remembered everything we talked about and all of the details of my case. It felt really wonderful to have the same person caring for me after having such a frightening accident. When I was moved from the ICU to the med/surge floor she made the effort to come out of another patients' room to say goodbye and wish me well. Claire was seriously so wonderful and she made such a difference in my stay. I am so grateful for her and am confident she made a huge impact on my healing. Gabriella Klotz
