We were moved from the ICU to 5N33. Our day nurse was Caylie. My daughter was in a horrific car accident and was in an extreme amount of pain. Caylie went above and beyond to make my daughter comfortable. Anything my daughter asked for she was accommodating and always on top of my daughter's needs. I stayed every day alongside my daughter, and she even accommodated me!! She took the time to ask her why she was there. She was someone to talk to. You see, the man that hit my daughter head-on did not make and my daughter was emotionally upset. After hearing that, Caylie reassured and comforted my daughter in her time of need. Giving moral support, a warm touch on the shoulder, and caring words. Don’t get me wrong, all of the staff here are great, but this one stood out. She went the extra mile!! I was so impressed by her clinical skills, her caring, and compassion. You could tell she loved her job, and she took pride in her work. She made a better day when she came into the room. She took care of my daughter like she was her own family!! She made a positive difference in the recovery of my daughter. When I told her I was nominating her, she said “I’ve been here for 5 years, and never have I been.” That goes to show me that means caring with love and doing it beyond her duties and without expecting a reward. That’s dedication!!
