When we came back, my mother was no longer on a gurney, but a beautiful white bed, resting peacefully and being watched over by Mari.
My mother was admitted to your ER on Friday. She was brought in via ambulance unresponsive. We were told, and we were aware our mother would probably not survive. The doctor called me around 5 AM on Saturday and said my sisters and I should come up to see my mom. Mari was my mother’s nurse that day. From the minute she came in, I never saw her sit down once. Mari never sat down. She was constantly checking on my mother and answering our millions of questions. I only saw her leave the room 3-4 times and she would only be gone a few minutes. At one point, another nurse came in and told Mari that she did not have to stay with my mom for the entire day. Well, she did. Constantly checking my mom’s blood pressure with different-sized cuffs and covering my mom with the warm air cover. My sisters and I stepped out for maybe 30 minutes and went to Sonic for a burger. When we came back, my mother was no longer on a gurney, but a beautiful white bed, resting peacefully and being watched over by Mari. When my mother passed away, Mari was with us. She is an exemplary nurse and a kind, giving human being. Mari truly became a part of our family.
