Have you ever met an angel? Well, I have. She spends her nights in the intensive care unit at St. Luke's Hospital. I was teetering on the brink of death. When this kind and caring individual focused on keeping me in the here and now, she attended to my every need, both physically and mentally. With compassion and love she kept me distracted from my condition, keeping me engaged and grounded. She spent the night ensuring all was good, which gave me the courage to endure my grave situation. Her loving touch and gentle manner were exactly what I needed. I've never met such a kind, caring, and compassionate individual. Everything she did was focused on my recovery. Prior to being released from the department, she came back to share with me her joy in seeing my recovery. That is truly the selfless act that showed me how important I was to her and me to her.
