I constantly observe Candy go above and beyond the average duties of an RN. She takes on the role of charge nurse every shift and does so with grace and honor. Candy is constantly evaluating and checking in on her nursing team throughout the day to make sure they are able to perform their duties safely. When her teammates feel overwhelmed or at their capacity, she will take on more responsibility to ease their workload. She's able to take on more without compromising her own patients. She is basically a superhero. She fights for her patient's rights and needs, and the doctors seem to respect her opinion when discussing their patients. If or when I find myself as a patient at Union Hospital, she is who I would choose to be my nurse. She is an excellent employee and deserves to be recognized. She is beyond excellent.
