Melissa, one of the diabetes education experts at the Oakview Clinic, has met with me twice as a newly diagnosed diabetic. She was very reassuring as a professional because she is a diabetic herself! She understood my concerns and had real solutions to offer. Despite my anxieties over this new aspect of my life, Melissa made me feel comfortable, confident, and cared for. She sat with me face-to-face (masked of course) and educated me and worked hard to help me understand what was happening and how I could exert control over this new disease. She also acted as a liaison with the doctor, to improve my medication plan and was prompt and efficient! Melissa is the kind of employee I would want working for me or with me as a colleague. Melissa seriously went through what I needed to know, but was extraordinary in the way she delivered that message with care. I am a retired teacher and immediately recognize those abilities in a person to teach and to communicate, and Melissa exceeds at both!
