I want to recognize Cristian Rosa of the ALERT team. The ALERT team is not required to come to the ICUs for Code Blues or airways. But because the airway in this room was called right after change of shift, Cristian knew that we would be trying to give and receive report and came by to help out. His help was invaluable. I truly believe it was because of Cristian's leadership and suggestions to the residents that this patient did not code. He helped us through the patient's immediate acute problems and stayed to make sure that the patient was stable-ish after intubation. I am very thankful that Cristian came to help because I was able to get some staffing issues identified and sorted while Cristian helped the nurses with the patient.

Cristian didn't have to help but because he is that special nurse, he did. He demonstrated true care and focus for the needs of this patient and his peers in MICU. His contribution made a difference for this patient and certainly for our team, and for that, I believe he is a DAISY Nurse.
