She truly is an extraordinary nurse and definitely deserves the Daisy Award.

I was admitted to this unit on Valentine’s day. From the minute Joeny came on the unit and into my room, I instantly felt safe and cared for. She is a very warm and personable nurse who is also very intelligent and knows her medicine. I worked in the medical profession for over 35 years and I can tell you of all the professionals I worked with Joeny is one of the top. A rare find and a keeper for sure. Your hospital is very lucky to have someone of her skill and competence representing your facility in her care.

I had a very bad case of pneumonia which I know is not that serious of an illness overall but she treated me as if I was the only person she was concerned about and couldn’t do enough to try to make me comfortable and fee better even though I was miserable. One night I had a very long and bad coughing spell for 45 minutes. I won the prize for the worst cough. Joeny fortunately was working. Once I was able to stop coughing I went into atrial fibrillation. She knew immediately what was happening and what to do. Reassuring me, taking EKG, contacting the doctor, ect. And I felt very safe. She stayed close all-night monitoring and making sure I was OK. For me it was like any other night with her there I know I’d be OK. Which of course, I was. My family all loved her as well. She has a great sense of humor which matched our own sarcastic wit. Whatever I questioned and I did a lot, she answered and explained or checked and got back to me.

I really could go on and on but she was just a delight. She truly is an extraordinary nurse and definitely deserves the Daisy Award. I will miss joking with her but hope we don’t meet again- LOL. Here at least. I wish her all the best in her life ahead with her family and new baby. Hold on to this nurse!
