I had a 1-year-old patient with a rare and quickly growing facial mass. The pathology and work up for the mass took several weeks and required multiple calls and visits to finally make the diagnosis. The family was understandably very anxious about the possibility of cancer and had several questions via MyChart and telephone calls. Jen and another rnurse answered their questions and helped the family navigate the system to finally get the diagnosis they needed. Both nurses went above and beyond in talking to very nervous parents, the lab insurance companies' managers, and the numerous other providers involved in taking care of this patient. I absolutely could not have done any of this without their help. This is just one of many examples of their true dedication to patient care--going above and beyond every day to make sure children get the care they need.
