There have been countless patient interactions where I have witnessed Sarah’s amazing care and how she demonstrates empathy, kindness, and compassion.
Sarah does it all and is such a tremendous asset to Briargate as a whole. I am so grateful for her dedication and commitment to her clinic and all the patients she serves. Sarah takes initiative, she role models CHCO's standards of behavior and is a natural leader. Sarah worked so hard this year to become a charge nurse, she obtained her CPN, became a code skills facilitator, a preceptor, actively participates on committees, and is working on becoming a fit testing captain!
As a charge nurse, Sarah navigates challenging situations with tact and diplomacy, she provides excellent service recovery and is an advocate for her patients and families. Sarah has received amazing feedback from many patients and families that are seen in the Cardiology department, specifically, a family who has been seen by multiple Children's Hospitals throughout the country, they shared that the care Sarah provided exceeded all the care they have ever received. She demonstrates empathy and goes above and beyond. She is an expert in her work and provides a positive experience with every interaction. Sarah also demonstrates leadership qualities through her mentorship with new team members. She steps into the MA role when short-staffed and has learned how to register Holters to better support the MAs.
Sarah has built relationships across the organization as well as with community providers to build 2 programs at Briargate. Sarah is building both the Fetal program and working closely with Dr. Lueth to build a Pulmonary HTN program in Colorado Springs. She has taken the initiative to work with our physician relations team to educate the community providers about our Fetal program and because of her efforts, she has already started to make connections and obtain referrals from her efforts.
