Tesse was one of the first nurses we encountered over our stay and definitely has had the biggest impact. Our daughter was born with esophageal atresia and required emergency surgery 2 days after being born. Tesse was our nurse on the day of surgery and not only did she take wonderful care of our baby but us too. After they wheeled our daughter off to be put under for anesthesia, she stayed behind to talk with us give us a hug, and let us know she was there. Once everything began calming down, I requested to have her as a primary nurse, and she happily accepted the assignment, and we spent most of our days with her. She offers to come hold and talk with the baby while I shower or if I seem tired, she offers the same to attempt and let me have a quick nap. Her positive, caring, helpful attitude makes her so much more than a nurse! She goes far beyond her job description and has become a friend as well as someone to brighten the long dull days of an extended NICU stay. Our daughter responds well to her and can sense the love and care she has for her patients as she learns and grows under her care.
