I was at Phelps Hospital (Sleepy Hollow, NY) this morning for my first screening colonoscopy. Jennifer Berger was my nurse. Though I wasn't particularly nervous, Jennifer's presence, personality, and interactions with me put me even more at ease. She told funny stories, took me through all the intake questions with humor, and inserted my IV with no pain (and I was quite dehydrated from the colonoscopy prep). Her decades of experience in nursing really shone through, exhibiting none of the jadedness that some acquire after years in the business. I was really relaxed and had some good laughs as I waited for my procedure. Jennifer should be enormously recognized for her highest-quality nursing care, exhibited through excellence in clinical practice AND in her kindness and personable connection.
