My dad has been very hard to care for because of his dementia and delusions that cause him to constantly try and get out of bed and experience certain fears. While all of the nurses who have been working with us have been very caring, Brandi Delk went above and beyond what was needed.

She had certainly gone the extra mile and would speak very kindly to my dad even though he had progressed to the point of not being able to comprehend anything or communicate with us. She was very attentive to him and to my mother, and explained things very clearly. She was never in a hurry to get out of his room and was such a comfort. I also appreciated that she understood his delusion that there were bugs everywhere.

When my dad was taken down to have a CT of his brain, his room was cleaned and they told him this when he got back. She even hung a brown plastic bag on the IV pole and told him it was a bug catcher, which helped with the bug delusion. The type of care that she provided was not at all what we were expecting, and I'm not sure that anyone could have expected that kind of exceptional care. I would like for Brandi Delk to know just how much I appreciate all that she did for my parents.
