I, Nicole A. Wallace, LPN have been a nurse for 16 years. My background is Medical- Surgical Nursing. I began nursing at Sentara Norfolk General for 13 years. I have two years of experience in the Pulmonary & Critical Care outpatient setting. For the last five years, I have served at Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, NC. I began Oncology training as a referral coordinator for Thoracic Oncology then transitioned into the role of Solid Tumor Nurse Liaison for the Inpatient Medical Oncology service.
I am an Advocate for my patients and have received several VIAs (Values in Action) because of my advocacy. I am a Lifetime member of the National Black Nurses Association and currently serve as membership chair of the Piedmont Chapter. I am the current secretary for the NBNA LPN Council. Locally I serve as a member of the Health Care Committee for the Mecklenburg NAACP. I am passionate about diversity and inclusion in the nursing profession. My goal is to one day own and run a community family health clinic.
NBNA to me is a safe space to share experiences and ideas, a place where you are comfortable to be yourself. A space where you are not judged because you have less credentials than someone else. A platform that promotes growth no matter where you are in the profession.
