Taylor listened to my concerns as well and made me feel like I was a part of my daughter’s birth just like X was.
We came to Norton when X was 31 weeks pregnant and having contractions. At first, the doctor was trying to stop delivery. So X was sent back to a watch unit. As contractions got worse X was in pain so we were moved back to the unit. It was hard watching X be in pain. It was only when Taylor became her nurse that things began to change.
Taylor spoke with both me and Mom. As we were telling things, we would see progress…she had a good eye for seeing X was in pain and there was no stopping the baby from coming even when the doctors were doubting she was actually coming. X already had two daughters she did not dilate with. X was telling them this, but seemed the only one that was listening was Taylor. She began reaching out to doctors to come back to get an early birth process started. You could see the results she was getting done.
Taylor got doctors to give an early birth. Which got X out of pain because none of the pain medication was working. Taylor is an exceptional nurse. She didn’t just say things, her actions showed she cared. When something was needed we didn’t wait. In the whole week we have been at Norton Taylor was the best nurse X and I had. While X was in labor Taylor showed that she truly cared. Taylor had advised she didn’t have any kids so she didn’t know the actual feeling of having a kid, but Taylor showed she actually cared to get X out of pain.
X was allergic to pain meds, but Taylor researched to find something X could take. It speaks volumes for a nurse to do something like that. That truly showed Taylor's character of how good a person she truly was and how great of a nurse she was. I could write a book on how to be a good nurse and use Taylor as an example. Nurses are supposed to be the middleman between patients and doctors. Taylor went above and beyond that. For everything she did for our family, I will always be grateful. Our family was lucky to have such a kind and caring person. In today’s society that is very rare in my opinion.
